Art Docent: | Art Docents present artwork to the children in the classroom along with an activity to reinforce the lesson. |
Building and Grounds: | This committee coordinates and assists with planning new landscaping & coordinates fall & spring clean-up events including any necessary weeding. The committee also oversees playground maintenance. |
Central's Heart: | This committee will organize special events and collections to benefit other communities. |
Class Parent Liaisons: | These two parents serve as the liaison between the H.S.A. Board and the class moms. For example, they begin the telephone chain should school be cancelled. |
Dance Committee: | The Dance Committee is made up of three parents who coordinate the Dance Program. The current three parents are looking for three volunteers whom they would train during the 2005-2006 school year to take over the program the following year. |
E-Mail Directory Coordinator: | This person collects, compiles, and distributes a list of e-mail addresses from those parents who wish to have their addresses distributed to the Central School community. |
Fun Fair: | The Fun Fair takes place in June and is an all-school event. Everyone's help is needed to organize games, rides, food, prizes, & special booths. Each class organizes a booth with parents to run it on the day of the fair. |
Fall Social Event (Harvest Fest): | This is an annual Central School covered dish dinner, usually held in November. Everyone who attends is asked to bring an appetizer, main dish, or dessert. This committee organizes the food, decorations and entertainment with help from all class mothers. |
Fifth Grade Coordinators: | These two parents are responsible for organizing the events for the 5th Grade including the Haunted House, Pool Party, Graduation, the yearbook and other graduation events. |
Holiday Shop: | This event, usually held during school hours, gives students the chance to do their holiday shopping. Volunteers are needed to coordinate with the vendor and staff the day of the holiday shop. |
Hospitality: | Hospitality consists of a person or a team of individuals responsible for providing, setting up and cleaning up refreshments for all H.S.A. & Federated H.S.A. functions held at CentralSchool. Funding is provided by the H.S.A. |
Media Center: | The Media Center is our school's library. There are two volunteers who chair this committee: Media Center Trainer, who trains the library volunteers on the library's computer system, and Media Center Scheduler who prepares the volunteer schedule. A library volunteer assists the children with checking out library books at the Central School library. The check-out process is all computerized. By volunteering in the library, you have an opportunity to work with your child's class as well as allow Mrs. Kaiser to do some enriching activities with the children and/or to help them find an interesting book. Your volunteer time is 50 minutes and, depending on the number of volunteers for your child's class, generally once a month. |
Leveled Library Liaison: | This person coordinates with Mrs. Burnet to organize the Levelled Library. |
| New Family Liaison: | This person checks with our school secretary on a monthly basis to gather the names of new students & their families so they may be called, welcomed and referred to the appropriate people if they have any questions. |
| Nominating Committee: | This committee helps the Ex-Officio President in soliciting parents to serve on the H.S.A. Board. |
| School Sign: | This job involves changing messages on our school sign to alert parents to special events and meetings. |
| Science Fair: | This committee works along with the staff to organize the Science Fair for the Central students. |
| Staff Appreciation Luncheon: | This is a catered luncheon for approximately 35 teachers and staff, all funded by the H.S.A. It is held on a weekday in the Spring. |
| Staff Welcome Back Luncheon: | This is a catered luncheon to welcome the staff back to school. Students start school the next day. |
| Welcome Back Picnic & Movie: | This committee arranges and coordinates the Welcome Back Picnic & Movie that takes place at Wilde Park the first Friday after school begins. |
