Health Office Musings from Judy Mullane

As we approach the conclusion of the school year I too, am closing a chapter of my life.  As many of you know, I shall retire at the end of the month and travel the road not yet taken.  I have enjoyed my 25 years in Glen Rock, all of them at Byrd and Central Schools.  You, as parents, have taught me much and I, too, have learned so much from your children who have shared their innocence, their inquisitiveness and their boundless energy that needs to be bottled and shared with us in our later years.  My heart has truly been touched and I have been richly blessed by all who have come through my door.

Often asked if I am staying in the area….yes, I will be here for some time to come and you are sure to see me in town as I shop here and attend church here.  I have some plans  for my time that looks not too free….spending more time in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area with my four grandchildren and not missing those 1200 mile roundtrips in the car for weekend dance recitals and birthdays.  The autopilot on the car will still be programmed; the return time will not be as time is what I have.  Theater, travel and new volunteer avenues beckon me and I have a list of the places I’ll go and the people I would like to meet.  Dr. Seuss has it right…life is a great and never-ending adventure.

I am so grateful to have been invited to share this trip with you.  Thank you for all you are, all you have been and all you are yet to be.  With honor and humility I leave you to my successor and on a very light note….will see you at the dedication of the “new health office” with its own bathroom…a request I made for 25 years and predicted would come to fruition upon my retirement….how prophetic.

Much joy, health and happiness to you, ONE and ALL!
